Weight reduced accumulator types

For more than 40 years, HYDAC has developed, manufactured and sold all types of hydraulic accumulators. Additionally; to fill up market gaps and to meet customer requirements HYDAC has developed, among these, weight reduced accumulators. They have been established for different applications of many industries. The weight reduced accumulators can be either bladder, piston or diaphragm.

Requirements, applications and products:

In Mobile Technology, especially in Automotive branches and in the Aircraft - and Aerospace Industry, the weight reduction is top on the list of requirements amongst accumulator manufacturers. With this release, HYDAC has achieved weight reductions of more than 80% in comparison to equivalent carbon steel executions.

Examples for HYDAC products:

Bladder accumulator, type SB345:

– Nominal volume: 50 litres

– Application: energy recovery

– Weight reduction: 63%.

Piston accumulators, type SK100:

– Nominal volume: 2.5 litres

– Application: support of the hydraulic of sport planes and gliders

– Weight reduction: 85%.

Diaphragm accumulators, type SBO50:

– Nominal volume: 0.32 litres

– Application: support of the automatic gear shift in a commercial vehicles

– Weight reduction: 67%.
