Primary Function

To assist and support the engineering team to deliver superior quality engineered electrical and control solutions in accordance with customer’s project technical specifications and safety standards.

Accountabilities (including but not limited to)

You will be primarily responsible for:

  • PLC & controller software development, electrical system design, including preparation of electrical circuit drawings, utilizing skills with:
    • PLC’s & controllers
    • Motor Control & Protection
    • AC Variable Speed drives and motors
    • DC electrical systems
    • Process control
    • Machine Automation & Control
    • Instrumentation
    • SCADA and HMI’s
  • Compiling of electrical proposals and quotations.
  • Electrical circuit drawings and designs using a CAD-based drawing software.
  • Compiling & delivering engineering documentation.
  • Project management of electrical and control systems for turnkey engineered system projects.
  • Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Diagnosing & re-engineering of existing electrical systems.
  • Perform administrative tasks and documentation control in an ISO9001 environment.
  • Participate in engineering team meetings.
  • Assist with training of engineers and technical staff members on electrical & control systems.
  • Technical support to various Hydac branches and distributors.

Qualifications

Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering Degree or equivalent industry experience.

Additional Skills

  • Programming skills – structured text.
  • Experienced CAD-based design packages.
  • Experienced with MS Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Good attention to detail and Committed to ensuring that tasks are followed through and completed efficiently.
  • Willingness to be hands-on for diagnostics and commissioning of packages
  • Excellent planning, project management, analytical problem solving and research skills.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of software engineering, electrical control systems & automation industry working experience.

Accountable to

Senior Mechatronics Engineer or Engineering Manager or Managing Director as required.

Technical Support - Projects / Melbourne (VIC)

Accountabilities (including but not limited to)

You will be primarily responsible for:

  • Perform administrative tasks and documentation control in an ISO9001 environment.
  • Liaising with suppliers to analyse technical requirements of projects, and facilitate the purchasing process.
  • Assist with compiling of technical proposals and quotations.
  • Facilitate production order processing.
  • Form a link between central purchasing and projects.
  • Assist with compiling and delivering production and technical documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of the principles of mechanical engineering in a project-based environment.
  • Participate in engineering and production team meetings.

Qualifications

Technical Qualification or Proficiency in the Mechanical Engineering Field.

You will be primarily responsible for incoming phone-based inquiries, specifying product using the latest sizing software, creating formal quotations, order processing and offering technical support to the External Motion & Control Engineers within the company.

You will be working as part of a professional team and will appreciate the importance of delivering a high-quality customer service. The role requires a strong technical focus in fluid power for providing advice and support.

HYDAC’s Professional Graduation program will see you spend time in every department following a formal rotation program. you will also be required to complete 10 internal Technical Training courses, in our Training School. On completion of the program, (2-3 years) you will be offered an opportunity to work as an Application Engineer.

Responsibilities

Expediting and receiving ordered material from suppliers in time to meet company requirements. Following through items ordered and keeping system information updated at all the stages from ordering to receiving.

You will also be responsible for managing end to end process:

  • Entering the order into the system
  • Sending orders to suppliers and getting an order confirmation from them
  • Checking and resolving order confirmations to ensure they meet company requirement.
  • Following through with suppliers and liaising with Logistics providers for delivery of supplies in timely and most cost-effective manner.
  • Receiving shipments in system and forwarding invoices to Accounts

Candidate

This is a “hands-on” role which requires a person with a high level of technical expertise. Candidate
