Initial situation

WT Hydraulics, HYDAC’s service partner, has almost 25 years of experience in hydraulic sales, service & repair operating in Perth, Kalgoorlie and Esperance Western Australia. They promise to achieve the highest level of efficiency, and they understand that the first step in achieving maximum profitability and efficiency comes down to the condition of the fluids used.

The company approached HYDAC for a vacuum dehydrator, with the ability to separate free and dissolved water or dissolved gasses from lubrication fluids, the initial idea was to avoid considerable waste problem of exchanging filter elements and enable a healthy hydraulic system at the same time. To evaluate the efficiency performance of the machine, WT Hydraulics did a test with H2GO™ and compared to the competitor’s machine OS600 Mini Unit.

  • Trial Oil Type: 210 Liters Penrite Indus Pro ISO 46 HYD

  • Trial Time to Reach Target Saturation Level of 30 ppm: 90 mins

Test Results

There is no auto-shutdown feature and continuous saturation monitoring. High noise level and pump cavitation are evident during the operation. Also, high flow rate required for the Centrifuge functionality offset's the water removal efficiency in general. The operator does require FULL familiarity and understanding of Unit's control to ensure safe operation of the unit in application. Serviceability could be more difficult on components located deeper into the unit's frame construction.

Test Results

First of all, the unit was extremely quiet and simple to operate. The auto-shutdown feature is recognised as extremely beneficial for an onsite cleanup. Meanwhile, graphical representation of units' function in operation was well detailed and useful. The overall efficiency of the unit under prescribed conditions was exceptional. Finally, serviceability of components is made easy by way of easy access.
