Backflushing Filters AutoFilt RF3 are used to protect oil and gas pipelines at risk of being flooded with fresh water or seawater.

Bladder and piston accumulators are used on electro-hydraulic actuators for emergency gas pipeline shut-off.   

The Compact Fluid Aqua Mobile FAM unit is used for degassing, dewatering and filtration of hydraulic and lubrication oils.

Floating production storage and offloading

One of the first steps in the treatment of water is pre-filtration, followed by fine filtration. This is precisely where the HYDAC solution comes in.

Three AutoFilt RF3 filters with a filtration rating of 50µm are used as coarse filters, and three process inline filters PLF1 are installed further downstream to provide fine filtration to 5µm absolute. In essence, the HYDAC filter solutions used in this type of application serve to protect the high-pressure pumps and membrane system.

Offshore products

Offshore products include the Autofilt RF3, Process Inline Filter PLF1, and hydraulic power unit (HPU). The HPU drives a hydraulic pile hammer for placing foundation piles subsea such as offshore platforms or windmill foundations.

Hydraulic cylinders, ABS-type approved accumulators, and coolers are used for offshore cranes. Cylinders can be painted according to application conditions or regulations and customer-specific requirements.

A filter with hazardous area clogging indicator VDHA with a 316 stainless steel junction box (ATEX and IECEx, CSA/UL indicator approval) can be used on a Wellhead Control Panel. 

The QHP Bladder accumulator is designed and constructed especially for the oil and gas market. Special elastomer, steel materials and connections are available depending on customer requirement.

QHP Piston accumulators are designed for various applications. They come in

various lengths and diameters and can therefore be manufactured to suit individual requirements.

Ball valves, electronics/control technology, mounting technology, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, and coolers are widely used in the oil and gas industry.

Heave compensation systems are used on deck cranes to neutralise the movements of a vessel. No fixed reference point is needed for this process in the case of Active Heave Compensation (AHC). Instead, a Motion Reference Unit (MRU) compensates for the swell by measuring roll, pitch, and yaw motions. This active hydraulic system consists of a piston accumulator and cylinder coupled to each other.

Pipeline transport industry in Australia

The pipeline transport industry is forecast to continue expanding over the next five years, according to IBISWorld research.

The industry's role as an intermediary is expected to help protect revenue generated from existing assets despite uncertainty in upstream and downstream industries caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the research says.

LNG export facilities commenced operations in Queensland from 2015-16, allowing for the international trade of eastern seaboard gas for the first time, the research says.
