Oil cooler for a compressor in New South Wales
HYDAC has offered a cooling solution for a company based in Taree, New South Wales.
This company uses a Broomwade compressor (L75SR, “C475SR”, 450 CFM) with a combination cooler for lubricating the oil and the compressed air cooling. At some stage, the oil side of the cooler had failed and it showed external leaks from the cooling fins.
We’ve installed a separated HYDAC cooler (AC-LN8L/1.0/F/B/1/IBP3) that bypassed the lubricating oil side of the combi-cooler. The oil side of the combi-cooler was made redundant by disconnection, but the compressor charge air remained connected to the air side. See images below.
The utilisation of the AC-LN 2-14 air cooler series is in all areas where either oil or water-glycol needs air cooling.
- A large product range
- Also, a large cooling performance range
- And a modular design
This cooler applies to systems with high cooling requirements, such as:
- Hydraulic systems
- Lubrication systems
- Machine tools

Testimony from our client
“The oil cooler has been in operation for over a week. The fan motor is thermostatically controlled. We have had a couple of hot days and the cooler is performing well. Cooler sat nicely on top of compressor unit with 5psi nonreturn valve on the oil inlet line to prevent cooler draining when the compressor is stopped.
Appreciate your help and advice.”
