What is Industrie 4.0 / Industry 4.0?

Industry 4.0 (also known as Industrie 4.0 or i4.0) is the current trend of automation and big data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, cloud computing, and the internet of things.

It is often defined as the merger of cutting-edge information and communication technology with the manufacturing industry. It can also be defined as the Internet of Things and services in the industrial sector. But perhaps more notably, it’s considered to be the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where conventional manufacturing and industrial methods are becoming progressively more automated and digitised via the use of technology.
