This course builds on the knowledge acquired in the Intermediate Hydraulics 2 course. It will provide a high level of detail for those wishing to expand their understanding and knowledge of common hydraulic components and their functions within a complex system.

The majority of this course is based on practical exercises. A particular outcome of this course is a deep understanding and practical analysis of the complex interplay between modern hydraulic control valves and their associated electrical controls.

In this course, you have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with proportional valves, pumps, and electronic controls and sensors.

Course overview:

  • Safety
  • Reliability and prevention by design
  • Basics of electric and electronic control
  • Electro-hydraulic operation and proportional valves
  • Industrial logic and PLC’s
  • Setting up a proportional amplifier card
  • Closed loop positional and pressure control
  • Sensors and measurement
  • PID Control
