SUSTAINMICRON: Frequently Asked Questions

SustainMicron FAQ

As modern oils become more technologically advanced, they are also becoming more efficient. However, the challenges of oil filtration and conditioning are increasing as well. SUSTAINMICRON®, our cutting-edge generation of filter elements, is raising the bar for filter performance. Through ongoing research and development, we’ve greatly enhanced the capabilities of existing element standards.

SUSTAINABLE, SECURE, STRONG

The new filter element is ideal for use across all sectors that prioritize top-tier filtration efficiency, high cleanliness levels, significant energy savings, and sustainable oil filtration. Its innovative design not only protects against electrostatic discharge but also meets the highest standards for filter element stability.

FAQs

  • Does the black outer shell have an effect/benefit?

In combination with the new and innovative mat structure, the black fleece has a supportive function in relation to the ESD protection. Thanks to the use of special bi-component fibres, the sleeve significantly contributes to the entire filter element’s electrostatically optimised design.

Which filter elements does SUSTAINMICRON® replace?

SUSTAINMICRON® combines three elements in one. It will replace Optimicron®, Optimicron® Pulse and Stat-Free® going forward, as it prevents electrostatic discharges (ESD) and offers high bending stability and change stability. In extremely critical systems, Stat-X® will remain our premium element technology for avoiding ESD.

Will Stat-X be replaced by SUSTAINMICRON®?

SUSTAINMICRON provides a certain level of electrostatic optimisation for a broad field of application. Stat-X remains the premium element technology for avoiding electrostatic charging and discharging in extremely critical systems.

Does the element’s fleece provide protection from dirt ingress from outside?

Like the PET film, the outer fleece material sleeve provides protection from attack when the filter element is handled. This protects the filter mat from contamination when the filter element is being installed.

Is the fleece more prone to damage?

The fleece was developed for the intended field of application and provides adequate protection thanks to its robust structure.

Are the fleece’s flow characteristics different to those of the PET film with its oval perforations?

As the fleece material is highly porous, it achieves uniform flow. As a result, it has been possible to improve upon the homogeneous flow characteristics of the PET film.

How can the new element generation be recognised by the incoming goods department during the transition phase?

During the transition from Optimicron to SUSTAINMICRON®, the element packaging will be marked with a seal sticker. You can scan the QR code on the sticker for more information.

During the transition phase, will some deliveries contain mixtures of ON and SN elements?

Yes, following the transition, there may be some temporary mixing of Optimicron (ON) and SUSTAINMICRON® (SN) elements as stocks are converted.

What changes will there be for the part numbers and model codes?

SUSTAINMICRON® filter elements have the same part numbers as our ON filter elements. However, the model codes will change from ON to SN.
