- What is HYDAC’s universal charging and testing unit used for?
It is used to charge bladder, piston and diaphragm accumulators with nitrogen or to check or change the existing pre-charge pressure in accumulators.
What steps must be taken before HYDAC’s universal charging and testing unit can be used on accumulators?The unit has to be screwed onto a hydraulic accumulator gas valve and then connected via a hose to a pressure regulator (not supplied), which is then connected to the nitrogen bottle.
Is there still a requirement to connect HYDAC’s universal charging and testing unit’s charging hose if the nitrogen pressure inside the accumulator must be checked or reduced?No, in that case there is no need to connect the charging hose.
How can an accumulator gas valve be opened to control pressure?The unit has a screw-type fitting with a built-in gauge, check valve and spindle for opening the accumulator’s gas valve to control pressure.
Are adapters required to charge and check accumulators?HYDAC piston and diaphragm accumulators can be charged and checked without the need for adapters. However, bladder accumulators require an A3 adapter, which is included in HYDAC’s scope of delivery.
